Te Wero Pakihi - The Business Challenge

Te Wero Pakihi - The Business Challenge was created as an advancement of the MWDI sponsored programme, MaiBiz currently presented at secondary schools.

MaiBiz is designed to inspire students about business and its impact in the life of each student and their future. Importantly, we are not there to create scholars - purely our intent is business, entrepreneurship and life skills.

Over the 7 years MWDI have sponsored MaiBiz we have visited 50 schools, attending 24 schools each year - training approximately 1500 students each year. The response from every school we have attended is exemplary. Universally, principals are positive about MaiBiz and the impact it has on their students.

However the message from teachers, principals and other stakeholders challenged us to create a follow-up to MaiBiz - a programme which could keep the dream alive. A number of options were investigated. Te Wero Pakihi was chosen as an event which reflected the values and wairua of MaiBiz. We are proud to partner AUT providing a knowledge, skills and a venue to stage the event. We are also excited to engage the assistance of Westpac bank in assisting us to make Te Wero Pakihi a success.
